The Sunny Lifestyle of a Home Journalist

It's finally 2016. Here are some of my favorite quotes to start it off with. Awhile back, I wrote about lame quotes, so I guess this could be the follow-up. I think it's funny how everyone chooses this time of year to contemplate where they are in life and where they want to be (as if they couldn't do it any other time of the year). But hey, might as well jump on the bandwagon.

1. "Be happy with what you have while working for what you want." -Helen Keller

2. "Begin each day (year) with a grateful heart."
3. "Something beautiful is on the horizon."

4. "Good things are going to happen."

5. "If you can't stop thinking about it, don't ever stop working towards it." (Also mentioned in this post on desire.)
6. "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you... Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." -John 14:27 (KJV)
This year may hold a lot, and sometimes it seems overwhelming, but God gives us peace and calms all our fears. (The hobby of coloring has recently been resurrected from my childhood. And I'm loving it as much as any toddler.)

7. "Memories (important yesterdays) were once todays. Treasure and notice today." -Gloria Gaither
8. "How lovely the silence of growing things."
We're all growing and sometimes the steps are so small we hardly even notice them. But those small steps are "lovely" nonetheless. Audry drew this.

9. "Whatever you can do or dream of, begin it." -Geothe
10. "Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us."
11. "Time is cried out upon as a great thief; it is people's own fault. Use him but well, and you will get from him more then he will ever take from you." -Susan Werner
This one is probably my favorite. Everyone likes to blame time, but really they should be blaming themselves for not using it.
12. "The future lies before you, like paths of pure white snow. Be careful how you tread it, for every step will show."
13. "Happiness is trying to catch you."
I found this in a fortune cookie years and years ago... Haven't forgotten it since. We just need to stop running away from happiness, and there it will be. :)
14. "Recall it as often as you wish: A happy memory never runs out." -Libbie Fudim
Even though it's sad that another year's gone, it's really not gone, because good memories never run out.
15. "Nothing is worth more than this day." -Geothe
