Thanksgiving Place Setting For the Wordy

Only 15 more days, and it will be officially Thanksgiving.

It's one of the best holidays ever, in my opinion. But it's also the time when the hostess panics. She needs something pretty to decorate her table with. She doesn't want it to look too store-bought, either. She wants something inexpensive, unique and most of all, easy.

The plate decorations we made for Thanksgiving last year were exactly that.

All you need is...

-some decorative fall paper
-dried flowers or leaves
-a roll of twine
-tape (preferably double-sided)
-a sharpie
-and some thankful quotes or verses

Write your quote onto a smaller piece of paper and tape that to a slightly larger one. Tie a  6-7" piece of twine around it, along with a cluster of small dried flowers or a pretty leaf. Repeat for each setting. That's it.

You can make them in any shape or size, and to match your centerpiece and/or tablecloth perfectly.

Last year, mom had everyone go around the table before we ate and read theirs. Although a few members of the family got impatient and worried that the food would get cold, so, when it was their turn, grudgingly read theirs in a monotone. But it worked out well overall.

We still have some from last year, and they're set around the house as decorations with leaves, pine cones and cinnamon sticks as their company.
